Wedding Rhapsody.......

At the beginning of each season, I wait anxiously for the PANTONE fashion color selections.   The colors of fall 2012 evoke calmness with a touch of excitement.  This season, PANTONE mix gray with purple and created "Rhapsody".


As per KateAspen, the perfect fall wedding color is “Rhapsody” and is also my favorite. The color “Rhapsody” is a grayed-down purple with a lot of personality. This color encourages comfort and serenity. This purple shade is popping up in lots of weddings and can be seen being used in almost everything from flowers, to dresses, and even cakes. The color adds just the right amount of romance and elegance to a wedding.

Something New at TimePieces

It has been almost a year since my last post. In January of 2012, I decided that a fresh coat of paint is needed in the shop. From painting one room, we kept going and going. By March, the entire shop has been repaired, updated and repainted. This is a fresh beginning to a new season at TimePieces.

When you walk into the shop and from the foyer, you will be in the front room.  This room is a very warm, creamy yellow.  This is the second room which was painted.  I love this color so much. 

From the front room, you will walk into the  personalized room.  You are able to browse among our many lines of personalized gifts, home decor, frames, and stationery.  A dear friend, Colleen Mikula, came into the shop on a deary January Winter day and said that I needed an uplift. She showed me a picture with this beautiful, exciting color and I fell in love. This was the first room I painted and the first time I ever painted. Painting became my meditation. Loved every moment.

 After I finished painting the front room, there were still two more rooms to paint. I was thinking about a brown for the third room.  Off to Sherwin Williams to check out their colors. The woman at Sherwin Williams said that I was missing an element of Feng Shui which was the blue family.  Looking and looking, I found the color.  A very subtle, but cooling and warming at the same time-periwinkle.

At this point, I had one more room to paint and  the sun room to clean out.  I took a week breather to think about the last room. I really did not want to add another color.  An idea, I will carry one color to the foyer and another to the last room.  So the last room is the yellow from the front room with one wall crisp white. When you enter the shop, the foyer is the periwinkle from the third room. A perfect balance and harmony.
